Boys, it’s time for a pedicure…

One of the morning’s tweets to catch my eye was from Orlebar Brown, the clothing company founded by my good friend, Adam.  This will come as no surprise.  Not only does he make probably the smartest, chicest, most attractive men’s shorts and swimming trunks in the world.  He enlists some of the best legs ever to model them, and at which you can ogle on the website at leisure.   Talk about turn of ankle, rip of tum, firmness of thigh – and polished of foot.  And there’s the rub.

As we girls duly improve the look of our legs and feet with pedicure, leg wax and fake tan as summer gathers pace, so too with the pedi should the men.   Need I tell my dear female readers?!   Question is, how to lure them into the pedicure chair…  It needn’t be beauty salon plush (a put-off for many a self respecting man in spite of the reported growth in popularity of the male beauty routine).  A good, effective but basic chiropody or podiatry treatment from a professional will buff and de-crust a manly foot a treat.

One step up and countless steps more enjoyable is the a medi-pedi – a chiropody treatment with the frills of a pedicure (nail polish optional).   A simple pedicure simply won’t get down to the nitty gritty required by the uninitiated foot.   A good start is a treatment at one of Margaret Dabbs clinics.  Dabbs transforms feet – takes years off them.  Dabbs’ Sole Spa clinic at Liberty would be my first choice of venue for the boys – it’s tucked neatly downstairs in the men’s department (subtle hint?).   Following this, gentle encouragement for regular use of a good quality foot file, a pair of trusty nail clippers and a peppermint foot cream.
