Like all world class models, Polly Bean is a chameleon. Able to slip into whichever look is required, underpinned by her own, unique style. Her trajectory to supermodel status has been swift, with a spiffing start at her Alma Mater, Private Eye. Today, she is as sought after as a model (most recently for Louboutin and Harvey Nichols) as noteworthy taste maker. Bean’s blogs for British Vogue, which offer commentary on fashion’s hot stories (the new Mulberry Del Rey, the Richard Nicoll bridal collection for Top Shop) are hotly anticipated. So, what of her make-up bag? Here, in a 30-second interview, exclusively for Emma Hill, Polly Bean reveals her beauty secrets:
What is your favourite scent? My favourite scent is something most people have never heard of, it’s called “Eau de watercolour” and is an expression of the way [I] look and feel most of the time. My smell is very important to me, and I think everybody loves being near me, partly because of my amayzing [sic] aroma.
Are you a Chanel lipstick kind of girl? I tend to vary my make-ups [sic], depending on what I’m doing that day. My fail safe generic must-have is a splodge of pink acrylic paint and some tip-ex.
Are you good about following a skincare routine? I don’t follow any particular skincare routines, although I find that chanting into a bowl of raw Manuka organic honey every morning for 5 minutes removes any excess dry skin around the eyes.
Do you worry about lines and wrinkles? Lines and wrinkles? Don’t be ridiculous!
Botox? I would never have botox,…although I have heard drinking it can greatly reduce the chances of a sagging throat, which is one of my big fears for later in life.
Polly Bean is signed to Premier Model Management. With thanks to her creator-pop, the cartoonist, Neil Kerber for facilitating this interview.
