‘You and your friends …  cool to the touch, you warm me so much…’

I’ll keep it short but sweet:

Hair – centre part, straight, loose, long.  Nina Porter, face of Burberry, gamine crop, super-short bangs.

Skin – polished, flawless, glowing, youthful.

Cheeks – little blush, rose pink flush.

Lips – trench beige, the new neutral.

Eyes – mascara, liner, neutral shadow…

Verdict:  The new neutral.  100% Burberry.

Will we wear it?  Probably.

‘… feels like I’m seventeen again… funny how it seems like yesterday…’

If only.

I blame it on Nina Porter, the barely-16 year old school girl who’s adorning the glossies as the cute, boyish fledgling face of Burberry’s new make-up.  I’m not obsessed, honestly. ‘though it only seems like yesterday that I remember my young cousin (who happens to be at school with Nina) as a baby, bouncing around in her carry cot at Christmas.  Cripes.

But I ‘m not bitter.  Because like my cousin, she’s a poppet, which is how she comes across in this vogue.com interview.    I (meantime) am also trying to get over the idea that we’re most beautiful at 31…

…am now out of my funk and praising the Lord for eye cream, concealer and soft focus foundation – today: Estee Lauder Perfectionist (soft focus lens effect for eyes) Burberry’s Sheer Foundation (v g) and Creme de la Mer’s new concealer (magic, out September).

I’m loving the long-awaited launch of Burberry make-up and frankly, have been itching to tell you about it for months.  And now I can, because the embargo’s off, make-up’s in store (Harrods) and we’re ready to go.

The ad campaign has added zip thanks to new face, Nina Porter, standing alongside, Lily Donaldson (they were both at Camden School for Girls) and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The make-up is trench inspired – from names such as Trench (a foundation colour) to Golden Trench (a golden, beige eye shadow) – to a delicious array of trench coat hues.

My favourites are Sheer Foundation, slips on like a dream and makes skin look seriously good.  And a blusher called Peony Blush – a delicate, pinkish peach hue that makes you look like a cherub (in a good way – ie.  gives cheeks a youthful bloom that looks realistic).

Here’re a few photos of the make-up – a lipstick (Lip Cover), a bronzing powder (Warm Glow) and a deliciously luxe kabuki brush.

Available from today at Harrods.
