We Have Liftoff

The following article appeared in Sunday Times Style on 31st July 2011.

This article was published in Sunday Times Style, today.

Style’s doing this clever thing on their site where you can upload a picture of yourself in all your slap ‘n tickl’lip glory.    All you have to do is email your photo to beauty@sunday-times.co.uk.   Apparently there’s a goodie bag in it for the best made-up lovelies.  Come on girls… Let’s see what this country is made (up) of.  x

I’ve just spend a fabulous fortnight in Cambodia.  Angkor Wat at sunrise, floating markets at sunset, tuk tuk drivers with broad, Cheshire Cat smiles, succulent Khmer curries.   It’s a damaged country, but its pulling through, head held high.   Oh, and sunshine and heat – 37 degrees.

From the sublime to the darned right freezing back in London.  Heat and mood plummet quicker than a gecko hop.  But not for long.

On goes the computer.  Eyes scan the inbox.  My temper switches from bleary-eyed anticlimax to one whooping with delight as I read that I’ve won a P&G Beauty & Grooming Award 2009 – Best Beauty Journalist of a National or Supplement for a piece I wrote for Sunday Times Style.  Thank you P&G, thank you Style.
