Snowdon Hill shoots and styles Jessica Biel’s hair at Tom Ford
This snapshot posted yesterday evening by the hairstylist Snowdon Hill has a rather 60s feel about it don’t you think? It’s reminiscent a Richard Burton and Liz Taylor pap shot taken at some premiere or other. It is uber couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel of course, just before (or after) Tom Ford’s first catwalk show, which he held at Lancaster House last night. The first story I’m going to tell you is about her hair. A classic, 60s bouffant (in keeping with the shot), which is seeing a bit of a revival right now. Hill (no relation) achieved the look with a blow dry, using a new-wave styling mousse from the hair brand, Fudge. It’s called Hot Hed Style Whip. Here’s what he did next: ‘Once smooth, I back combed the hair at the crown and wrapped it into a high French roll,’ he says. He set her style with lacquer (Fudge Skyscraper if you were wondering).
But here’s the thing. This very morning, I happened to be using one of Fudge’s new styling products to de-limp my beautiful new Karlie Kloss bob. I simply apply it randomly through my hair, lifting up sections and spritzing kind of around the root. You can use it to boost root lift and to give your hair a slight dischevelled, mussed up finish. It’s better than hair spray because it gives texture as well as hold – and the beauty of it is that you can apply strategically, so your hair never looks solid. The new volumising hair powders come a close second in terms of breakthrough styling product for the limp locked, but this folks, is it.
