It’s okay, I’m not going to regale you with stories of my teenage predilection for a bob (the shorter and sharper the better). But Keira’s most recent, which was photographed at the Venice Film Festival in September took me on a bit of a memory trip. See it and a line up of her best (and not so) hair moments via Grazia (they’re rather supportive of my blogs so my turn…). Take a look here.
This line up – or hair hall of fame – reminded me of something else I fell upon last week. This. A film that flicks through a girl’s self portraits taken every day for four and a half years, showing just how much (or little) we change. But more than that, showing just how great an impact a hair cut or style has on a face.
As it happens, this film has had almost 6 million hits on You Tube. It’s not a new idea. And I don’t know that I quite believe it. But I like it. Just as I like a darned good hair cut and a brilliant styling product. Here are a few I have been trying lately:
Living Proof Full Thickening Cream – brilliant, smells divine, a modern day setting lotion. Another fantastic volumising cream is by Kevin Murphy. They’re right, it’s not greasy and it gives fine hair that oomph it needs. Both these are great for natural volume. For more va va voom, Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Hair Spray is a seriously weighty thing. Thickens and gives hold, majorly. Another great volume spray is Lulu’s – see here – it’s a goodun and hairstylists mourning the change in formula of another great thickening spray swear it’s an exact replica.
